Here at the North Midlands team, we are adapting to a new way of working and have quickly learnt new technology. We continue to support and supervise our carers and have become creative in how we do this. Video calls and conferencing have been valuable at this time to ensure that we are still providing that face to face support during these strange times.
Our support worker continues to support our children and has adapted her approach in a way that suits each child. Whether this is by telephone call, video call or more creative way of playing board games or other activities together. In addition to this, she has set up weekly fun challenges for all the children to complete. They have sent photos and videos, which has been great to see how they are managing to their change of routine.
We continue to be as busy as ever with recruitment and we are still undertaking ‘virtual’ home visits and answering all the questions prospective applicants may have. Assessments are still being started and visits are being completed over video platforms!
