Agency staff, managers and leaders care about the children and young people as if they were their own. This approach is shared with the foster carers, who take deep pride in their children’s and young people’s achievements, as well as feeling genuine sorrow for their experiences of grief and loss.

The vast majority of children and young people make exceptional progress from their challenging starting points. A social worker stated that her child has achieved ‘impossible outcomes’ since being placed with his foster carers. Children and young people thrive in their placements.

nadine's story

My first meeting with Nexus was friendly and informative and they made the process very easy. There were no surprises in the assessment process, as the assessment was explained to me at the start and I found that helpful. Every stage of the assessment was useful to me and my Social Worker and it helped cement my reasons for becoming a Foster Carer.

I was totally prepared as my Social Worker said she wouldn’t put me forward to Panel if she didn’t have 100% faith that I would be approved. This gave me confidence during Panel, which wasn’t as scary at all. The training at Nexus is excellent and covers topics from child development, useful educational courses through to how to deal with more difficult situations.

Nexus are such a friendly, supportive, forward thinking and professional agency. Carers and young people are always listened to sensitively. Support is available 24/7 from staff but there’s also great support from fellow Carers. Placements are always well matched. I would recommend fostering with Nexus, without reservation.

I have been with Nexus for a few months now and can honestly say I am amazed by the level of support offered. Anytime I need advice there is someone for me to talk to. 24 hours a day support. Highly recommend them if you want to get into fostering.
