a message from sue – anglia team

4 May 2020

Here in Anglia, it is business as usual.  The team are all working from home, but keeping in regular contact with their foster carers via video links.  It is important for us to keep in contact with our carers for them to feel well supported and connected particularly given we cannot be with them carrying out home visits.

Our fabulous family support worker Maddy is doing a great job in putting together weekly activity packs to send to the young people in supported placements.  She is then following this up with video calls and being creative in doing cooking, playing board games and much, much more, incredible what can be accomplished through the means of technology.  One of our supervising social workers sent sunflower seeds to her young people and there is a competition on for who can grow the tallest sunflower. I am sure we will see the winning results in the coming weeks!

If you are interested in fostering in Anglia we are actively seeking to recruit foster carers to support and provide vulnerable children and young people.  We are particularly keen to hear from you if you are interested in providing a home for parent & child fostering, caring for sibling groups, teenagers and for more complex specialist placements for those children who have experienced significant trauma and need carers who can ‘did a little deeper’ with their levels of resilience to support some of our more challenging children.

If you think you could open up your hearts and homes to a child or young person give us a call on 01603 951405 to find out more.  We are a friendly bunch and love to chat so come on pick up the phone or make an enquiry via our website.
