Christmas is nearly upon us and as we all rush around shopping for gifts and planning the big meal, you may forget to relax and enjoy the festive season too! For those who have children or are fostering in Uxbridge, Christmas is a time to enjoy yourself and let your children have a bit of fun. There is plenty going on in and around Uxbridge this Christmas, here are just a few suggestions from the team here at Nexus.
Ice skating
What better way to embrace the cold winter weather than skating around on Uxbridge’s own outdoor ice rink? Located at the Civic Centre on Uxbridge High Street, the ice rink will be open Monday to Sunday, from 10am until 8pm (prices vary depending on whether you go at a peak or off peak time, from £3.50 – £7.00). With penguin stabilisers to keep young children on their feet and special ‘Themed Thursdays from 5pm, including a ‘Frozen’ singalong theme on 17th December and a Christmas jumper theme on 24th December, this is the ideal place for festive fun with your children.
Christmas fun at intu Uxbridge
Uxbridge’s favourite shopping centre, intu, has plenty of fun Christmas activities happening over the next few weeks. Your children can enjoy decorating their own Santa beard, Christmas hats and stockings on the 12th and 13th of December between 11am and 5pm. There’s also a ‘Snow Ball Pit’ for the kids to jump around in throughout December. The kids will get to meet Santa and his elves as they stroll around the shopping centre every weekend and just to add to the magic it will be snowing in the Piazza area daily between 5pm and 8pm.
Christmas movie marathon!
Don’t feel like braving the cold? Why not have a Christmas movie marathon instead! Get your PJ’s on, grab some snacks and lounge around with the kids watching classic Christmas movies. Once you’ve tired of your movie marathon, there is plenty more to do indoors. Make homemade Christmas decorations, play board games and enjoy your time together as a family, which is what Christmas is all about!
