We passed panel in August and then got our first placement in October 2018.
how many children/ young people have you fostered?
We had a parent and baby placement for two weeks. We are currently fostering two siblings.
what are the main challenges of fostering a sibling group?
Simple things like fitting daily life around contact meetings with parents and arranging and facilitating phone contact with their grandparents.
what do you think the benefits are for siblings to be fostered together?
The two siblings we are fostering are very close. They support each other.
what is your fondest memory from one of your placements, or a particular success story you would like to share?
Listening to the children laughing and giggling.
what tips would you give to someone expecting their first sibling placement?
Take one day at a time. Make your home as child friendly as possible. Be welcoming. Prepare to start as you mean to go on.

Rewarding, privileged, amazing!
why did you choose to foster with Nexus Fostering and how have they supported you in your fostering journey?
We chose them after we did a lot of research. Nexus came across as supporting. On initial home visit, they were very honest. Support whilst fostering has made us feel well looked after by the Central (Cambridge) team. We have rung for advice both in office hours and out of hours; where they haven’t answered they’ve called back as soon as they were able to.
